Q1. Congratulations for an excellent 2019, please let us know your key achievements in 2019.

2019 has been another great year for the Hospitals with continuous improvement in services and enabling them to provide better care for over 5-lac patients who visited our hospitals. With a large push in strengthening the core specialities, introduction of new programs and departments and a major push in stake holder relations we have achieved greater heights in healthcare.

This year we have strengthened several initiatives at the hospital, including a Palliative Care unit that caters to the terminally ill patients, a Therapy Park which is a first of its kind initiative in the nation for differently abled children. We have also started with a Paediatric and Perinatal HIV clinic where more than 1800 pregnant mothers and 1500 HIV infected children have been treated in this year itself. We have also inaugurated a Nutrition Rehabilitation Centre, which will be a centre of excellence in providing standard treatment for children with Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) & comprehensive care for prevention of SAM. We have done over a thousand cardiac surgeries, many rare and complex surgical and medical cases and several bone marrow transplants throughout the year with great success. These are remarkable accomplishment and fuels improved healthcare quality teams led around the huge waiting list of patients in our community.

Our annual event Little Hearts Marathon with its 6th edition in January, 2019 saw over 27,000 children participating and supporting our cause for prevention of cardiac diseases in children and help raise funds for children who are suffering from congenital cardiac diseases and require surgery.

We have constantly demonstrated that our medical management capabilities can transform care for our patients and at the same time enhance the sustainability of our health care system with limited resources. Our Highly experienced and skilled doctors and staff are our biggest strength.

The year has again seen tremendous success with number of significant awards and accreditations from national and international organizations as we achieved exemplary performance in our quality of care and services at the hospitals.

We have achieved quite a few landmarks in this year so far and we have set new targets and goals for the upcoming year.

Q2.  Please share few disappointments in 2019.

Like every year this year was another roller coaster ride. It had its own share of ups and downs and our focus has always been on continuous improvement despite of the same.

There are a lot of positives that we focus on, wherein the hospitals today are synonymous with excellent health care services and quality education. We have managed to create a name, which stands for full – fledged infrastructure facilities; exceptional strength of doctors, management and staff, and the most updated super specialty services in the field of Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

Q3. Key challenges to overcome in 2020.

I’ve spent nearly thirty-five years in the healthcare industry, and I’m still amazed by the tremendous changes we continue to see and excited by the opportunities in front of us.

2020 brings out greater challenges for us we have several new initiatives in the pipeline. We are undergoing a major transformation of our services at the Maternity hospital with refurbishment of the heritage building and are soon going to start with new services like MRI for our patients in the paediatric hospital. There will be a major push in strengthening the state-of- the-art services we provide at the hospitals and our community outreach initiatives as well.

Q4. Way Forward for 2020

Achieving the goals in 2020 will require a focus on operational excellence across all capabilities of our organization. What’s most promising about our goals for 2020 is that we have a tremendous head start from the previous years.

I am excited to chart a new path forward in 2020 to transform healthcare delivery with a focus on people, process, and technology across the communities we serve and achieve greater heights for the hospitals.

Q5. Message for Healthcare Industry Stakeholders

At the outset I want to wish you all a very happy, prosperous and healthy new year 2020 and thank each one of you, whatever your responsibility; however great or small, in the healthcare sector.

Working in healthcare is a privilege that we must continue to earn every day and build on the success of many predecessors.

My message to the industry stakeholders is that each one of us should focus on adding sustainable value to the health care delivery system. In addition to exceptional growth, we should look forward to sharing more stories of operational success & its impact on the community at large. We should closely work with market-led functions for the medical management, stakeholder relations, data and analytics, and finance to ensure sharing of best practices, expeditious resource deployment, and reporting consistency.

I am very positive and hopeful that in 2020 we can envisage a great future for the healthcare services in our nation as we re-imagine and transform healthcare together.
