A recent event on AI in Healthcare saw the introduction of a new theme, AI-Driven Innovation in Healthcare, expanding the discourse well beyond the technology’s role in EMR (Electronic Medical Record) adoption, physician productivity, operational efficiency, and fiscal sustainability.

Over the span of its journey so far, leading AI service, Augnito, has seen the congregation of over 300 healthcare and healthtech stakeholders, including doctors, Medical Directors, IT Heads, and other key decision-makers from the most prestigious organisations across the country. These conferences have provided an exclusive platform for industry leaders to network, converse, and innovate, paving the way for the future of healthcare transition and technologies.

Hosted at Chennai’s luxurious Novotel on Chamiers road, the conference aimed to delve into the untapped potential of AI in reshaping healthcare delivery and improving patient care. The opening keynote presentation was delivered by Ashokkan Somuveerappan, CIO of Apollo Hospitals, who gave enlightening insights into the Group’s commitment to a comprehensive digital transformation, the promise of personalised care, and the adoption of augmented intelligence technologies across the spectrum.

Speaking after the event, Somuveerappan remarked, “While the design, development and deployment of cutting-edge technology solutions in the healthcare ecosystem is an exciting prospect, it’s important to remember that we must keep ethics, compliance and security at the forefront of the discourse as well. Platforms like Augnito, which convene industry leaders, are crucial for ensuring these products are developed inclusively and with a human-centred approach. Working with Augnito, we have witnessed the clear benefits of their voice AI solutions in our hospitals. This collaboration fills me with confidence that we’re on the right track, and I’m eager to see what the future holds.”

Another key highlight of the conference was a thought-provoking panel discussion on Empowering Clinicians with AI: Enhancing Patient Care & Clinical Decision- Making. The panel comprised respected names in healthcare, including Venkata Phanidhar, Group CEO of Medway Hospitals, Dr Sandhya Cherian, Vice President of Frontier Lifeline Hospital, Dr Arunkumar Govindarajan, Executive Director &

Radiologist at Aarthi Scans & Labs, and Dr Ilankumaran Kaliamoorthy, CEO of Dr. Rela Institute & Medical Centre.

Having made his own presentation on Voice AI in Healthcare, Today & Tomorrow – which broke down the fundamentals of a new operating system for doctors, based on layers of intelligence – Rustom Lawyer, Co-founder & CEO of Augnito also oversaw a live product demonstration of their latest Ambient Clinical Intelligence (ACI) technology. The intuitive application showcased how Augnito has made it incredibly easy for clinicians to create EMR-ready data from an unstructured, natural conversation.

“I’m absolutely delighted with the turnout in Chennai, possibly our most-attended conference to date. We set out in the middle of last year with a vision to bring together the brightest minds in healthcare and spark meaningful conversations. Now, these conferences have evolved into more than just events; they’re catalysts for tangible change. We want to usher in a new era of Made-In- India healthcare technology. By fostering a collective and positive dialogue among all stakeholders, we’re not just provoking thought, we’re fostering innovation that will drive the future of healthcare in India and across the globe. This is just the beginning, stay tuned,” said Lawyer.
