Amid the growing interest in medical tourism in India, healthcare luminaries converged at the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the “Conference on Rising Opportunities in Medical Value Travel in AYUSH Sector” on 14 December 2023. The event, graced by dignitaries from the government, pharmaceutical companies, and hospitals, delved into the burgeoning field of medical tourism in India and its prospects for advancement.

Dr. Puneet, Ayurveda Physician & Founder-Director of Karma Ayurveda, shared insights into Ayurvedic principles at the conference. He remarked, “Ayurveda, originating 5000 years ago in India, embodies the essence of a life free from medicines. Our focus at Karma Ayurveda is on maintaining the health of the healthy and treating the diseased. We are proud to be the first Ayurvedic hospital empanelled with ECHS  (Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme). It is a groundbreaking initiative by which we will be able to provide cashless treatments  at par with our allopathic counterparts.”

Highlighting the pivotal role of the AYUSH visa, Dr Puneet asserted, “The AYUSH visa has provided a significant boost to Indian hospitals, facilitating the travel of international patients seeking traditional healthcare services.
