According to reports, 20 junior doctors residing in Gandhi Medical College hospital have been diagnosed with dengue.
All have been admitted to the tertiary care hospital. Amidst the pandemic, dengue is now turning out be another worrisome spot for the health department. According to the Hospital, it is the first time when so many doctors are being found sick with the vector-borne disease.
District malaria office conducted fogging and lava surveys in the area, including the hostel and adjoining colonies. According to reports, a junior doctor was first diagnosed with fever and body rashes in the B block of GMC hostel. Later on, tests were carried out on other medical students.
A considerable number of people are diagnosed with dengue. Another vector-borne disease, Chikungunya, has been diagnosed in Bhopal.
Over the past few years, most patients of dengue have been found in Saket Nagar. The number of patients in the locality is more than 20. Half a dozen patients have also been found in nearby Bageshvaniya.
According to unconfirmed reports, a native of Guna died while undergoing treatment in Bhopal. She was admitted in a private hospital. She was 40.Across MP, the number of vector-borne cases has increased. 1624 cases of dengue have been reported along with 1584 patients of malaria in MP.
