Federation International Law, Medicine, Ethics & Innovation in association with Integrated Global Healthcare Mission (IGHM) organized a webinar “Heal the Healers, Save the Warriors” on National Doctor’s day.
Dr. Prof. Rajesh C. Shah, “Father of Medicolegal Science” Awardee, D.Sc, M.S., (Gen. Surg.) inaugurated the webinar and expressed his shock and agony on cruelty against doctors. He cautioned the nation that mob lynching will not only deter doctors from doing their duty in holistic manner but also aspiring youngsters from joining this noble profession. India can not afford to fail on both the counts.
The key note speaker Mr. Afzal Kamal, Founder and Chairman, IGHM and Founder and Editor, Medgate Today while addressing to medical fraternity made an emphatic call to society to preserve and conserve this rare of rarest national resources as it takes 2 decades to develop a doctor and nation already has poor Doctor-Population ratio.
He further said that there is an urgent need to run and sustain a campaign to save doctors on the lines of “save tigers”.
Among speaker ex honourable minister of Gujarat State Dr.(Mrs.) Nirmalaben Wadhwani while expressing her strong commitment to the cause of the medical fraternity, strongly recommended the changes in state penal provisions to deter crimes against medical fraternity. Taking forward her suggestion Dr.Prof.Rajesh Shah called upon ” One Nation One Penal Provision” given universality of cruelty & crime against doctors and healthcare workers and healthcare organisation.
Other panelists DrLalit Shah,Raipur(CG),.Dr.Sampathkumar(Tamilnadu)Dr.Rajan Bhagora(Bhiloda),Dr.Parul Shah(Ahmedabad),Dr Krishnaiah Cheruvu(Chennai),and Dr.Tashi Motup(Leh) also expressed their serious concerns and demanded strong provisions in Indian CrPC.
This webinar was attended by all stakeholders of healthcare like medical fraternity,health activists , policy makers and civic societies,Lions club District 3232B2 .Dr.Rakesh Shah(USA)and Romany Sutherland(South Africa) took a keen interest in the discussion and narrated the situation in their nation.
