In a landmark move, the Rajasthan state cabinet, under Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, has formally approved the Heal in Rajasthan Policy 2025, designed to establish Rajasthan as a premier destination for medical value travel (MVT). The initiative aims to offer affordable, high-quality healthcare services that combine modern medicine with traditional Indian wellness therapies
Policy Objectives & Strategic Goals
Position Rajasthan as a global MVT destination offering world‑class secondary, tertiary, and AYUSH-based wellness care
Attract investment and foster job creation, leveraging schemes like the Rajasthan Investment Promotion Scheme (RIPS), industrial policy, and tourism policy
Enable economic development and global branding while integrating healthcare and tourism sectors seamlessly .
Key Implementation Components
Dedicated MVT Cell: A specialized agency at the Directorate level will oversee medical visas, certification of facilitators, hospital accreditation, and international coordination
Certification & Quality Assurance: Hospitals selected for MVT will undergo NABH accreditation and regular audits; only certified MVT facilitators and providers will operate under the scheme
Digital Ecosystem: Launch of an MVT portal and mobile app, multilingual helpline, support for telemedicine, and integrated services for hospitals, travel agents, facilitators, translation, and hospitality
Healthcare Expansion & Services Offered
Broad Treatment Portfolio: Includes cardiac surgery, organ transplants, orthopaedics, neurology, oncology, stress relief therapies, cosmetic, and altogether wellness packages blending conventional care with AYUSH treatments (Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha)
Inclusive Facilities: Selected hospitals will cater to dietary and cultural preferences—such as separate worship rooms and varied food options—to enhance the experience of international tourists, especially from the Middle East
