Infrastructure Upgrades and PPP Exploration
The seven ICU facilities, sanctioned in September 2021 but stalled due to funding shortfalls, planning lapses and alleged mismanagement, will now be modernized with state-of-the-art equipment including MRI and CT scanners

As part of a broader strategy, the Delhi government is also accelerating the development of four general multi‑specialty hospitals, making the total count of under-construction facilities 11

Given the significant financial and staffing requirements—estimated around ₹9,000 crore and 42,000 additional personnel—the administration plans to adopt a public‑private partnership (PPP) model, supported by a transaction adviser and project management unit to oversee completion, commissioning, and operations

Enhancing Access, Transparency & Global Aspirations
Ayushman Bharat Integration & Health Tourism Potential
Chief Minister Gupta underscored that the redevelopment aims to ensure no citizen is denied treatment due to financial or infrastructure constraints

She also appealed to private hospitals to join the Ayushman Bharat scheme, enabling economically weaker sections to access advanced therapies

These super‑specialty ICU centres will be embedded in a redesigned healthcare system that prioritizes accessibility, transparency, and service excellence—positioning Delhi as a premier medical destination for both domestic and international patients
