The Government of Haryana has announced plans to establish 100 new health sub-centres and Ayushman Arogya Mandirs as part of its latest state budget, reinforcing efforts to expand primary healthcare infrastructure and improve access to essential medical services across rural and semi-urban regions.

Presenting the state budget, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini outlined the government’s commitment to strengthening grassroots healthcare delivery by expanding the network of community-level facilities under the national Ayushman Bharat initiative.

The proposed health sub-centres and Ayushman Arogya Mandirs will function as key pillars of the state’s primary healthcare system, providing preventive care, maternal and child health services, immunisation programmes, and screening for non-communicable diseases. The initiative aims to bring essential health services closer to communities, particularly in underserved areas where access to quality care remains limited.

Ayushman Arogya Mandirs are designed to serve as upgraded health and wellness centres offering comprehensive primary care, including telemedicine support, early disease detection, lifestyle counselling, and referral services to higher-level medical facilities. Officials stated that the expansion aligns with the broader national goal of strengthening preventive healthcare and reducing the burden on tertiary hospitals.

The state government also emphasised that investments in healthcare infrastructure remain a priority in the current fiscal plan. The proposed centres will help expand healthcare outreach while supporting early diagnosis and treatment, which are critical to improving long-term health outcomes.

Healthcare experts have welcomed the announcement, noting that expanding the network of community-based health facilities can significantly improve accessibility and efficiency within the healthcare system, particularly in rural and remote regions.

With these developments, Haryana continues to focus on building a more resilient healthcare ecosystem by strengthening frontline medical infrastructure and ensuring that essential health services are available closer to the population that needs them most.
