On Monday the Government made an announcement to the effect that foreigners who are living in India are eligible to receive Covid-19 vaccination in this country. They can register on the CoWin platform, and the only document required is their passport. “This is a landmark decision,” noted the Health Ministry in a Statement. “The Ministry of Health and Wellfare has taken the decision to allow foreign nationals to get registered on the CoWin portal to take the Covid-19 vaccine. Once registered on the portal, they will get a slot for the vaccination,” it declared.
Further, the office of Union Health Minister, Mansukh Mandaviya, also tweeted on this decision. “Together We Fight, Together We Win Clapping hands sign Govt has now allowed foreign nationals residing in India to register on CoWin portal and take #Covid-19 vaccine. This will ensure overall safety from the transmission of the virus,” read the tweet.
