The Healthcare Leadership & Nursing Excellence Summit 2026, held at the iconic Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, concluded successfully, emerging as a powerful national platform that placed nursing leadership, system governance, and human-centric healthcare at the heart of India’s journey towards Viksit Bharat – Vision 2047.

Organised by Medical Fair India, an initiative of Medicare Asia and Messe Düsseldorf, with Advance Media Group as the Conference Partner, the summit brought together policymakers, hospital leaders, nursing heads, global industry experts, healthcare architects, procurement leaders, and international delegates for a day of deep dialogue, strategic insight, and future-focused collaboration.

More than a conference, the summit stood as a national commitment to elevate nursing leadership, strengthen healthcare governance, and align India’s healthcare systems with global best practices—recognising that the future of healthcare will be shaped not only by technology, but by leadership, compassion, and courage.

The summit opened with a strong call to action, highlighting the central role of nursing leadership in patient safety, clinical governance, and healthcare delivery excellence. The Welcome Address by Mr. Afzal Kamal, Editor-in-Chief & Managing Director, MedGate Today, underscored the need to move beyond episodic recognition towards sustained leadership development, system accountability, and policy alignment.

The Opening Keynote by Dr. Upasana Arora, Managing Director – Yashoda Medicity framed the day’s discussions around national healthcare priorities, leadership excellence, and system-level transformation setting a clear agenda for actionable outcomes rather than theoretical discourse.

The summit featured a carefully curated agenda addressing healthcare challenges across the value chain.

A technical presentation on Airborne Hospital-Acquired Infections and Solutions highlighted how innovation-driven prevention strategies are redefining patient safety in clinical environments.

Leadership perspectives on patient safety and clinical governance were led by Dr. Kousar Shah, Group CEO, Sharda Care Healthcity, who moderated the opening panel on advancing patient safety through nursing leadership. The discussion featured eminent voices including Col. Binu Sharma, CEO, INS India; Jeena Jose, Nursing Superintendent, Holy Family Hospital; Prof. (Dr.) Raminder Kalra, Principal & Professor, Holy Family College of Nursing; Dr. Saurabh Lall, Vice President & Hospital Director, Marengo Asia Hospital; and Girja Sharma, Chief of Nursing, Fortis Hospital, Shalimar Bagh—collectively reinforcing the strategic role of nursing leaders in shaping safety culture and clinical excellence.

Reimagining Healthcare Delivery Beyond Metros

The evolving geography of Indian healthcare was addressed by Mr. Gaurav Khurana, Group CEO, Amandeep Hospital, who presented a compelling roadmap for delivering advanced, affordable, and accessible care across Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, positioning regional India as a critical growth engine for national healthcare delivery.

Dsigning India’s Future-Ready Healthcare Infrastructure

The session on future-ready healthcare infrastructure brought together policymakers, architects, clinicians, and engineering leaders. Moderated by Dr. Vinod Singh, Founder & Consultant, Hospitech Healthcare, the panel featured Urvashi Prasad, Former Director, NITI Aayog; Ar. Shruti Gupta, Healthcare Facility Planner, Max Healthcare; Ar. Shamit Manchanda, Chief Healthcare Architect, Manchanda Architects; Shrikant Sharma, Head of Design MEP, Motherson Group; and Deepak Nanaware, Head (Engineering & Marketing), AAF International (Daikin Group). The discussion emphasised infrastructure as a long-term national asset requiring resilience, sustainability, and human-centric design.

From Vision to Execution: Procurement and Supply Ecosystems

Healthcare procurement and supply chain transformation was examined in a high-impact panel moderated by Mr. Naveen Sharma, Facility Director, Fortis Hospital, Shalimar Bagh. Panelists Mr. Vijay Kumar Gupta (CEO, RayPure LEDchip Indus Pvt. Ltd.), Vikas Goyal (Head – Supply Chain, Fortis Memorial Institute), Nandani Gokhale (Fortis Healthcare Ltd.), and Rakesh Aggarwal (Care Hospital, Quality Care India Ltd.) highlighted how transparent, strategic procurement directly influences quality, efficiency, and patient trust.

The Human Dimension: Elderly Care, Mental Health, and Compassionate Leadership

The summit concluded with a deeply human-centric dialogue on elderly care and mental health, moderated by Mr. Supratik Gupta, Chief Solution Officer, Support Elders. Panelists Brig. Punita (Technical Director – HRH, Jhpiego India), Dr. Kanwar Bir Singh (Founder, MentHeal), Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay Rajpal (Country Head, Ypsomed India), Dr. Aman Khera (Founder & Director, AegisCare Pvt.
