His Excellency Dr Nawab Mir Nasir Ali Khan, the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Hyderabad for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, met with the Hon’ble Governor of Telangana, Shri Jishnu Dev Varma, at the Raj Bhavan in Hyderabad. The meeting followed Dr Khan’s recent official visit to Astana, the capital city of Kazakhstan.
During the meeting, Dr Khan briefed the Hon’ble Governor about his productive discussions in Astana. A key highlight was his meeting with Yousuf Aljawder, Chairman of the Management Board of Astana International Airport, and His Excellency Talgat Lastayev, Vice Minister of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The discussions focused on the prospects of operating direct flights between Hyderabad and Astana. Both Kazakh officials expressed keen interest in launching these direct flights and committed to visiting Hyderabad by the end of this year. Their visit aims to engage in further talks with GMR Airport and Indian airline operators to facilitate the initiation of these operations.
Dr Khan also informed the Hon’ble Governor about his engagement with Mr Kairat Sadvakassov, Chairman of the Management Board of JSC “National Company Kazakh Tourism.” During this meeting, they discussed plans to jointly promote tourism between India and Kazakhstan. Mr Sadvakassov is scheduled to visit Hyderabad in November-December 2024 to organize a tourism promotion program in partnership with the Consulate of Kazakhstan in Hyderabad, thereby strengthening tourism ties between the two nations.
Additionally, Dr Khan discussed his meeting with His Excellency Kairat Torebayev, Vice-Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The discussion centered on the significant potential for enhancing export and import activities between India and Kazakhstan, particularly in the fields of pharmaceuticals and information technology.
Dr Nawab Mir Nasir Ali Khan expressed his gratitude to the Hon’ble Governor for his support in fostering closer relations between India and Kazakhstan. The meeting underscored the growing cooperation and the potential for enhanced bilateral ties across various sectors, including transportation, tourism, and trade.
