New Delhi, September 4, 2025: India has been welcomed as a pioneer country by HealthAI, joining the HealthAI Global Regulatory Network (GRN) to advance the responsible application of artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare. This significant collaboration between India and HealthAI aims to share best practices and accelerate global efforts for safer and more effective deployment of AI technologies in healthcare.
The Indian Council of Medical Research – National Institute for Research in Digital Health and Data Science (ICMR-NIRDHDS), along with IndiaAI, will collaborate with HealthAI and other GRN members such as the UK and Singapore to exchange safety protocols and monitor AI performance within clinical settings. This partnership reinforces HealthAI’s mission to promote fair, secure, and efficient AI-driven health solutions and establishes India’s leadership in the responsible use of AI in healthcare.
The signing ceremony in New Delhi saw the participation of Dr. Sanghamitra Pati, Additional Director General, Dr. Mona Duggal, Director of ICMR-NIRDHDS, Kavita Bhatia, COO of IndiaAI, and Dr. Ricardo Baptista Leite, CEO of HealthAI.

Members of the GRN also receive technical support and contribute to adopting best practice standards that balance innovation with data privacy and patient safety.
