In a significant move to strengthen healthcare services across Maharashtra, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has unveiled a series of initiatives aimed at improving cancer care and emergency medical response. These measures include the establishment of day-care chemotherapy centers in seven cities and the deployment of advanced medical support units.
Day-Care Chemotherapy Centers in Seven Cities
To enhance accessibility to cancer treatment, the government will set up day-care chemotherapy centers in the following cities:
– Thane
– Solapur
– Ahilyanagar
– Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar
– Nanded
– Wardha
These centers are designed to provide patients with convenient access to chemotherapy services without the need for prolonged hospital stays, thereby reducing the burden on existing healthcare facilities and improving patient comfort.
Deployment of Advanced Medical Support Units*
In addition to the chemotherapy centers, the government will introduce the following resources to strengthen emergency medical services:
– Eight cancer mobile vans equipped for early detection and diagnosis.
– 102 ambulances to enhance patient transport capabilities.
– Seven advanced life support ambulances to provide critical care during emergencies.
These initiatives aim to improve healthcare accessibility, particularly in underserved areas, and ensure timely medical interventions.
