Dr. Ashwin Avadhani as Consultant – Spine Surgeon

Manipal Hospital, Yeshwanthpur, today announced the appointment of renowned spine surgeon, Dr. Ashwin Avadhani, as Consultant – Spine Surgery. He is a well-known and highly respected spine surgeon, specializing in orthopaedic and advanced spinal surgeries. His area of special interest is microscopic cervical and lumbar discectomies as well as corrective procedures for spinal deformities. A pioneer in this field, Dr Ashwin has experience of about 15 years. He also has over 25 research papers and publications to his credit.

He specializes in treating neck and back pain using both, non-operative and operative methods. Well-known for his expertise in injection techniques for spinal disorders, such as nerve root blocks and epidural steroid injections, Dr. Ashwin is also skilled in performing minimally-invasive spine surgeries, including microscopic and tubular lumbar and cervical procedures, and minimally invasive spinal stabilization. He has carried out many complex scoliosis deformity correction surgeries, spinal osteotomies for kyphosis, percutaneous spinal biopsy, and more. Additionally, he has expertise in anterior cervical discectomy and fusion, cervical corpectomy and cervical laminectomy, and vertebroplasty and kyphoplasty for osteoporotic fractures.

Dr. Ashwin is MBBS, MS (Ortho), DNB (Ortho), MNAMS, and FNB Spine Surgery. He also holds a fellowship in Spine Surgery from the National University of Singapore (NUS). This vastly experienced orthopaedic surgeon has demonstrated exceptional skills in areas, such as spine surgery, orthopaedic surgery, healthcare management, healthcare, and clinical research.

And in 2008, in the selection for the national board-affiliated spine surgery training program, he was ranked 2nd in India. Dr. Ashwin is proficient in English, Hindi, Kannada, Konkani, and Tamil. He also possesses basic understanding of Malayalam and Arabic.
