Medtronic, a global leader in healthcare technology, today announced the launch of its next-generation electrosurgical energy platform in India — the Valleylab™ FT10 series. The new portfolio includes the Valleylab™ FT10 Electrosurgical Generator (VLFT10FXGEN) and the Valleylab™ FT10 Vessel Sealing Generator (VLFT10LSGEN), both of which are US FDA-approved and CE-marked. With this introduction, Medtronic aims to transform the Indian surgical ecosystem by providing advanced technology that enhances precision, safety, and efficiency in the operating room.

The Valleylab™ FT10 platform is designed to deliver consistent and intelligent energy with the integration of TissueFect™ sensing technology, which continuously monitors tissue characteristics and automatically adjusts energy delivery in real time. This helps improve surgical precision and reduces the risk of collateral tissue damage. The platform also supports monopolar, bipolar, and LigaSure™ technologies, enabling surgeons to use multiple modalities in a single procedure for greater flexibility and efficiency.

Equipped with adaptive algorithms and rapid processing capabilities, the FT10 system responds to the inherent variability of surgical environments, including patient anatomy, tissue heterogeneity, and operative conditions. According to Medtronic, these innovations help shorten operative times, improve workflow efficiency, and allow surgical teams to focus more on patient outcomes.

Commenting on the launch, Abhishek Bhargava, Senior Director, Medical Surgical, Medtronic India, said: “The launch of the new Valleylab™ FT10 family of generators in India is a pivotal step in our mission to make advanced surgical solutions accessible across the country. With this platform, we are equipping clinicians for safer, faster, and more precise procedures — and empowering hospitals to deliver cost-effective, high-quality care.”

As part of its India strategy, Medtronic will also be investing in comprehensive training and education programs for surgeons, biomedical engineers, and operating room staff. The company is planning a phased rollout across leading hospitals, with an extended reach to tier-2 and tier-3 cities, ensuring wider access to the latest advancements in surgical energy platforms.

The launch of the Valleylab™ FT10 series further strengthens Medtronic’s long-standing Valleylab legacy, which spans over 50 years of innovation in surgical energy. With this next-generation platform, Medtronic reaffirms its commitment to advancing surgical care and supporting the needs of India’s evolving healthcare landscape.
