Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari dedicated to the people of Nagpur a state-of-the-art charitable diagnostic centre envisioned and established under his leadership to serve the city’s underprivileged communities. The Swargiya Bhanutai Gadkari Memorial Diagnostic Centre offers high-quality MRI, CT scan, dialysis, blood testing, and digital X-ray services—all at minimal or no cost. What makes this centre truly unique is that all key medical equipment installed is entirely ‘Made in India,’ manufactured at the Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ), Visakhapatnam, reflecting a strong commitment to self-reliance in healthcare.
Spread across a 6,000 sq ft fully air-conditioned space, the hospital operates with a completely paperless workflow powered by high-end servers and digital systems. Managed by the Swargiya Bhanutai Gadkari Gramin Vikas Sanstha, the centre is designed to benefit not just North Nagpur but underserved communities across the city. It also houses five advanced dialysis machines and digital X-ray units, expanding its capability to serve a wide range of diagnostic needs. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Gadkari stated, “This centre reflects our commitment to ensuring that the poorest of the poor have access to cutting-edge healthcare. It combines our technological strength with social responsibility. With AMTZ’s support, we are not only providing healthcare at the last mile but also championing India’s capabilities in MedTech innovation.”
All major diagnostic machines at the centre—including the 1.5 Tesla Clarity MRI scanner and the Inspiration 64 Smart CT scanner—have been designed and manufactured in India at the Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ), Visakhapatnam. These ‘Made in India’ systems are certified by CDSCO, AERB, and BIS. The MRI scanner features advanced MUSIC technology and a wide-bore, short-magnet design to ensure enhanced patient comfort and scan efficiency. The CT scanner performs high-resolution chest scans in just 6 seconds and angiography in under 32 seconds, delivering precision with speed. Dr. Jitendra Sharma, MD and Founder CEO of AMTZ, emphasized the significance of the centre’s all-Indian technology backbone. “This diagnostic centre is proof that India now has the capacity to design and manufacture world-class diagnostic technology within the country. This not only reduces the cost of healthcare but also increases accessibility and self-reliance in health systems,” he said. The inauguration ceremony was graced by Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Devendra Fadnavis, Shri Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Revenue Minister Govt. of Maharashtra, and Dr. Jitendra Sharma, MD & Founder CEO of AMTZ, in dedicating the facility to the people of Nagpur. CM Fadnavis appreciated the initiative and extended an invitation to Dr. Sharma to work with the Government of Maharashtra to replicate such diagnostic centres across the state.
