The camp provided free tests such as blood sugar, blood pressure, and thyroid screenings for mothers, along with basic health assessments like height, weight, and vital signs (eyes, nose, ears) for babies

This camp aimed at ensuring early detection and timely care for improved health outcomes for both mothers and their children

Kharadi:  In observance of World Health Day 2025, themed “Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures,” Motherhood Hospital, Kharadi, partnered with the Kharadi Women’s Organisation to host a free health check-up camp for women laborers and their children on 7th April. The initiative focused on early detection and timely care to improve health outcomes for underserved communities. This event aimed at promoting well-being and helping communities like these be healthy in and around KHARADI and educating them to make sure that they take the rightful decision for their reproductive health in the future.

The camp educated about the importance of regular health check-ups, especially for women and children who often lack access to proper healthcare facilities.

Women and children in labor-intensive communities are unaware of various health problems and fail to seek timely intervention. Poor nutrition, lack of medical attention, and unawareness about health conditions invite complications such as anemia, high blood pressure, thyroid issues in women low birth weight, and developmental issues in children. This initiative gave women valuable insights into their health to improve their overall well-being.

Mr Kanishk P Jha, Facility Director, Motherhood Hospitals, Kharadi, Pune said “Many underprivileged mothers lack access to proper care during and after pregnancy. This leads to avoidable complications for both mother and child. Camps like these not only identify issues early but also educate and empower women to take control of their health. It also creates a comfort zone for these women to clear their doubts regarding their or the baby’s health.  The initiative saw active participation from the local community, creating a safe space for women to ask questions and seek guidance from experts. Attendees expressed gratitude, with many pledging to prioritize their health and well-being moving forward.

This community-focused event reflects Motherhood Hospital’s ongoing commitment to making quality maternal and child healthcare accessible to all.

“Motherhood Hospital’s and Kharadi Women’s Organisation collaboration has always been committed to supporting the community, especially women who are the pillars of every family. They bring new life into the world, and their health directly shapes the future. Through such initiatives, we strive to ensure every mother gets the care and attention she truly deserves. We applaud the Hospital’s initiative and will continue to extend our support in the future as well. Efforts like these create real impact at the grassroots level. Together, we can work towards building a healthier and more informed community for women and children.”  Dr. Hc Saravjeet Kirad member of the Kharadi Women’s Organisation.
