SP Vikrant Patil Inaugurates Neonatal ICU Ambulance

First-of-its-Kind in Rayalaseema – Ensuring Safe Transport for Critical Newborns

District SP Vikrant Patil emphasized that in cases where critically ill newborns need to be transferred to a larger hospital, the lack of proper ambulance facilities has been a major challenge. However, with the launch of an advanced neonatal ambulance by KIMS Cuddles, this issue is now addressed. He inaugurated the state-of-the-art neonatal ambulance services at KIMS Cuddles Hospital in Kurnool on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, SP Patil stated that this special ambulance, the first of its kind in Rayalaseema, will allow the safe transport of critically ill newborns from any remote location. Equipped with an incubator and advanced medical facilities, it ensures that newborns receive the necessary medical care even while being transferred. He commended the doctors, staff, and management of KIMS Cuddles for introducing such a vital service.

Advanced Life Support for Newborns

Speaking at the event, Consultant Neonatologist Dr. H.A. Naveed explained that some newborns face severe health complications at birth. In such cases, regardless of how remote the location is, this ambulance can ensure their safe transport while providing critical medical care. He highlighted that the ambulance is equipped with a high-tech incubator, ventilator, oxygen support, and even emergency medication facilities. He noted that previously, only portable ventilator-equipped ambulances were available for adults, but this is the first time such comprehensive neonatal transport services have been introduced in Rayalaseema.

KIMS Hospital Chief Operating Officer, Dr. Sunil Sepuri, shared that KIMS Hospital in Kurnool consistently introduces advanced medical facilities to serve the people better. As part of this initiative, they have launched this cutting-edge neonatal ambulance, which will be a boon for the people of Rayalaseema. He assured that parents of critically ill newborns will no longer have to worry about transportation difficulties. Dr. Sunil  further explained that preterm babies often face severe health challenges, making it crucial to transfer them to specialized hospitals. With this ambulance now available, parents can rest assured about their baby’s safety. The service will also benefit for pregnant women and children in need of emergency medical care.
