She noted that NIMHANS’ integrative approach, combining traditional methods such as yoga with modern healthcare systems, has been instrumental in alleviating both mental and physical distress.

The President praised NIMHANS for its community outreach programs, including the historic Bellary model of community-based mental healthcare and the Tele Mental Health Assistance and Networking Across States (Tele MANAS) platform. These initiatives have extended mental health services to underserved populations, with Tele MANAS serving nearly 1.7 million people across 53 centers nationwide in multiple languages over the past two years.
