New Delhi, 3rd October 2024: SS Innovations, the developer of India’s first Indigenous surgical robotic system, announced the completion of over 2,000 robotic surgeries using its Mantra Surgical Robot. Dedicated to making world-class robotic surgeries cost-effective and accessible to a global population, SS Innovations has achieved a milestone in the global healthcare scenario.

This is a monumental achievement that exemplifies the convergence of Indian ingenuity, cutting-edge technology, and ergonomic design. The Mantra System is a comprehensive platform developed through close collaboration between visionary surgeons and dedicated engineers. Its unique design philosophy prioritizes functionality and usability, ensuring that it meets the needs of surgeons and improves overall patient care delivery.

Alongside metropolitans, the installation of SSI Mantra in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities across India, such as Moradabad, Hisar, Coimbatore, Rohtak, and Cuttack, benefits communities with affordable and advanced surgical technology.

Celebrating the remarkable achievement, SS Innovations Founder, Chairman, and CEO, Dr. Sudhir Srivastava, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the entire SSI team and said, “It is the spirit of our engineers, their faith in the system, and their commitment to improving lives that has brought us this far. At SS Innovations, we believe in ‘democratizing access’ and ‘decentralizing excellence’ to ensure that world-class surgical care is available to all, regardless of socio-economic background.

The SSI Mantra Surgical Robotic System is already making a significant impact in hospitals, with surgeons praising its ergonomic design and precise controls that enhance minimally-invasive procedures and improve patient outcomes. By minimizing recovery time and reducing complications, SSI Mantra has become an invaluable tool, particularly in resource-constrained environments where high costs have historically limited access to advanced technologies.

The system’s technical performance spans various surgical disciplines, particularly in the challenging field of cardiac surgery. Of the 2,000 surgeries performed, 124 were cardiac cases, all completed with exceptional precision and a success rate resulting in zero mortality and no device-related adverse events, showcasing the reliability and safety of the SSI Mantra system. Additionally, the system has been used in 789 general surgeries, 621 urology surgeries, and 269 gynecology procedures, demonstrating its versatility across multiple specialties. This level of performance highlights not only the advanced engineering of the platform, but also the rigorous protocols and training that ensure safe and effective use in complex surgical procedures.

We’ve reached 2,000 surgeries, and this milestone is not just a number; it reflects the need of the hour in today’s healthcare landscape,” said Dr. Vishwa Srivastava, President and COO of SSI Innovations. “SSI Mantra is the result of our dedicated engineers’ hard work, and we are confident in its potential to transform global healthcare and improve patient outcomes.”

As SS Innovations celebrates unprecedented success, the organization remains steadfast in its commitment to future growth and innovation. Completing over 2,000 robotic surgeries using SSI Mantra is not just a milestone; it embodies the power of collaboration and dedication to enhancing healthcare for all.

About SS Innovations:

SS Innovations, an operational company based in India focuses on the development, manufacturing, assembly, and marketing of the SSI surgical robotics system named SSi Mantra. The company is registered with the United States SEC and is dedicated to advancing the field of medical robotics using cutting-edge technology and collaboration with leading surgeons. The uniqueness of SS Innovations lies in being the only surgical robotic system globally that is both cost-effective and applicable across various soft tissue surgical specialties, including cardiac surgery. The company believes that this innovation has the potential to revolutionize surgery by providing less invasive options to underserved populations.

About SSI Mantra:

The SSI Mantra Surgical Robotic System, by SS Innovations, is a modular multi-arm system with many advanced technology features. It allows for the use of 3-5 robotic arms, has an open-faced ergonomic Surgeon Command Centre, 32-inch large 3D 4K monitor, a 23-inch 2D Touch panel monitor for all patient related information display, a virtual real-time image of the robotic Patient Side Arm Carts, and the ability for superimposition of 3D models of diagnostic imaging. The Vision Cart gives the table-side team the same magnified 3D 4K view as the Surgeon to provide better safety and efficiency. The modular robotic arms give flexibility in positioning and the number of arms to be used. This allows for collision-free conduct of surgical operations. There are over 40 different types of robotic endo-surgical instruments that can be used for different specialties including Cardiac Surgery. The learning curve is short due to its very thoughtful and ergonomic design and user-friendly features.
