Speaking as the chief guest at the 2K Walk organized by KIMS Hospital, Kurnool, on the occasion of World Heart Day, he stressed the need for adopting healthy lifestyle habits to prevent heart-related issues, which have been increasingly affecting the youth in recent times.
The 2K Walk began at Raj Vihar Circle and concluded at the Collectorate. Along with the hospital staff, several locals also participated in the walk. During the closing ceremony at the Collectorate, cardiologists from KIMS Hospital’s Cardiology Department highlighted that unhealthy habits such as smoking and alcohol consumption are major contributors to rising heart issues among young people. They further pointed out that those working in the IT sector, who often lead sedentary lifestyles due to the nature of work-from-home arrangements, are more vulnerable to heart problems. The doctors emphasized the importance of regular physical exercise to maintain a healthy heart.
Dr. Sunil Sepuri, COO of KIMS Hospital, Kurnool, stated that the hospital offers the services of five cardiologists and a team of cardiothoracic surgeons under one roof.
