Rusan Pharma Ltd., is a global leader in pharmaceutical innovation, proudly announces that its Chairman, Dr. Navin Saxena, has been honoured with two of Russia’s most distinguished accolades, ‘The Order of Friendship’ by the Russian Federation & the ‘Memorial Medal’ from Moscow’s People’s Friendship University. These honours recognise Dr. Saxena’s exceptional contribution to science, medicine, pharmaceutical innovations including cross-cultural collaboration over his 40-year career.
Last week, during its 65th-anniversary celebrations, the People’s Friendship University in Moscow awarded Dr. Saxena the ‘Memorial Medal’ in honour of the late Rector Prof. Stanis, a visionary leader who championed the ethos of ‘Be beautiful people.’ This accolade recognises Dr. Saxena’s groundbreaking advancements in chemistry and medicine, alongside his dedication to fostering sportsmanship and holistic well-being.
In addition, in a historic ceremony at the Kremlin, the Russian Minster of Science & Higher Education, on behalf of the President of the Russian Federation conferred upon Dr. Saxena the ‘Order of Friendship’—Russia’s high civilian honour. This award acknowledges his tireless efforts to strengthen Indo-Russian relations, promote the Russian language and culture globally, and drive pharmaceutical innovation, with the decree specifically highlighting his leadership at Rusan Pharma and his role as a bridge-builder between nations.
In response to the honours, Dr. Saxena, Chairman at Rusan Pharma stated, “These awards are for India, and not mine alone. Dr. Navin Saxena now joins an eminent group of Indian visionaries honoured with the ‘Order of Friendship,’ including chess legend Viswanathan Anand (September 2018); former Member of Parliament Murli Manohar Joshi; distinguished scientist Dr. A.S. Pillai, former Chief Controller, R&D, DRDO, and the founding CEO & MD of BrahMos Aerospace (December 2013); poet-translator the late Madan Lal Madhu (2001); former Prime Minister the late Inder Kumar Gujral; the late Justice V.R. Krishna Iyer; and iconic filmmaker Mrinal Sen (October 2000). This accolade underscores his place among luminaries celebrated for fostering Indo-Russian collaboration across diverse fields.
