Ties Rakhi and Offers Courage at KIMS Hospital

Tying a rakhi and offering words of courage is one thing; saving the life of a critically ill younger brother is another. It takes extraordinary courage to do the latter. In today’s world, where human bonds are often fading, a sister risked everything to save her little brother’s life.

A five-year-old boy from Mahabubnagar was diagnosed with severe aplastic anemia—a condition caused by bone marrow failure. His elder sister, currently an intermediate student, stood by him, reassuring him and donating her own stem cells to save his life. On the occasion of Rakhi, at KIMS Hospitals, Secunderabad, she tied a rakhi on his wrist and told him, “I am here for you, my brother.”

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Narender Kumar Thota said this was a true example of the deep bond between siblings. He added that she dispelled myths and stood strong to protect her brother.
