In a first of its kind initiative, the Press Club of India inked an MoU with Faridabad-based Supreme Hospital for providing health care and treatment facilities to it’s members and the staff on payment of CGHS rates.

The MoU was signed by Gautam Lahiri, President of the Press Club of India and Dr P S Rana, Chairman of Supreme Hospital in the presence of Managing Committee members and senior journalists.

Dr Rana said it was a proud moment for their hospital as this arrangement would bring modern medical facilities within affordable range for journalists who are PCI members.

Mr Lahiri said that there were many PCI members who were not accredited to the PIB and were not able to avail of CGHS facilities.

PCI Secretary General Neeraj Thakur said that Supreme Hospital would also provide OPD and in-patient treatment to the family members of PCI members and the employees of the Club.

He said that there is already an agreement with NOIDA-based Felix Hospital on similar lines.

He said these two arrangements fulfilled the long felt need for bringing medical treatment within affordable reach of journalists and PCI staffers.

Dr Rana said Supreme Hospital would also organise free health check up camps at PCI whenever required.
