As the situation escalates in the country there has been a wide shortage of ventilators across various hospitals. “We will need thousands of ventilators”, this statement is made by a doctor who has been on COVID duty in Bengaluru. The doctors who have been closely working with the government said clinical need should dictate if a patient needs ICU or invasive ventilation treatment.
Currently, India is facing the second wave of pandemic and the sudden surge in the cases has threatened the medical infrastructure and gripped the availability of ventilators in the country. Ventilators are also being made at full pace under the Make in India initiative but that is not enough to meet the current need for ventilator beds for the patients.
In concern with the situation Mr. Suresh Vazirani, Chairman and MD at Transasia Bio-Medicals said, “The 200 Nos of Bi-PAP Non-Invasive Ventilators donated by Transasia to various Government hospitals help reduce Oxygen requirement by about 80%. It achieves better and faster results with just 20% consumption of Oxygen.”
