“World Hypertension Day serves as a crucial reminder of the importance of early detection and proactive prevention. Prehypertension, often silent and unnoticed, is a critical warning sign that must not be ignored.
In India, nationally, more than one in four adults has hypertension. Alarmingly, over 90% of these individuals are either undiagnosed, untreated, or inadequately treated with uncontrolled blood pressure. Even among those with a diagnosis, only one in three is actually aware of their condition. This highlights a significant gap in both awareness and access to timely intervention.
The growing incidence of hypertension—especially among younger, working populations—must be seen not just as a health threat, but as an opportunity to intervene early. With the availability of advanced diagnostic tools today, we can detect these conditions much earlier and empower individuals to make meaningful changes before complications arise.
At Mahajan Imaging, we emphasize the value of regular and accurate blood pressure monitoring. But diagnosis is just the first step. What follows is equally vital: lifestyle modifications like adopting a balanced diet, engaging in regular physical activity, managing stress effectively, and assessing sleep health.
By identifying prehypertension early, we can significantly reduce the risk of developing full-blown hypertension and lower the burden of non-communicable diseases. Awareness, when paired with accurate diagnostics and preventive care, becomes our most powerful tool in promoting long-term heart health and overall well-being.”
