In a significant step toward advancing surgical education and training, Yashoda Medicity, Indirapuram, in collaboration with Intuitive, a global leader in robotic-assisted surgery (RAS) technology, has inaugurated India’s first dual-bay Robotic-Assisted Surgery Training Centre. The facility was officially inaugurated by Shri Harsh Malhotra, Union Minister of State for Corporate Affairs and Road Transport & Highways, and Shri Sunil Sharma, Minister for IT and Electronics, Government of Uttar Pradesh.

This state-of-the-art centre marks a milestone in India’s healthcare journey, offering surgeons and surgical care teams access to advanced, hands-on training in robotic-assisted techniques across specialties such as urology, gynaecology, and general surgery. The dual-bay design of the centre is the first of its kind in India, allowing two teams to undergo training simultaneously. This will not only boost the volume of trained professionals but also enhance collaborative learning experiences, making it a model for future training hubs.

Speaking at the event, Dr. P.N. Arora, Chairman and Managing Director of Yashoda Group of Hospitals, emphasized the organization’s dedication to bringing international standards to Indian healthcare. He noted that this centre reflects Yashoda Medicity’s commitment to promoting excellence in surgical training and patient care. Dr. Upasana Arora, Managing Director of Yashoda Group, highlighted that the centre supports the ‘Heal in India’ initiative by expanding access to advanced treatment options and empowering healthcare professionals with future-ready skills.

From Intuitive, Dr. Myriam Curet, Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer, underscored the critical role of such centres in delivering consistent and structured training in robotic surgery. She said that this centre represents a forward leap in strengthening India’s capacity to deliver high-quality, minimally invasive care. Rohitt Mahajan, Vice President and General Manager of Intuitive India, added that the collaboration aims to build a strong ecosystem of skilled robotic surgeons and standardize outcomes to improve patient recovery and overall surgical experience.

This partnership between Yashoda Medicity and Intuitive aligns with India’s vision of becoming a global hub for healthcare innovation and medical tourism. By enabling wider adoption of robotic-assisted surgery and ensuring surgeons receive uniform, hands-on training with da Vinci surgical systems, the centre is set to reduce variability in surgical outcomes and enhance the quality of life for patients.

The Robotic-Assisted Surgery Training Centre stands as a landmark initiative in transforming India’s surgical landscape and fostering an environment of continuous learning, innovation, and clinical excellence.
