Apeejay School of Management (ASM), Dwarka, organised a street play on the topical issue of ‘air pollution in Delhi’. Held in its vicinity, it was meant to sensitise about the issue and highlight the causes and effects of the increasing menace of air pollution.

The play, titled in Hindi ‘Bas aur Pradushan Nahin’ (No more pollution), witnessed the participation of around 20 students of ASM’s Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) programme, first year students. They contributed by writing, acting and directing the play.

While the play was helpful in spreading awareness on air pollution, it also helped the management students in improving their expertise in many ways. “We staged the play with minimal properties and costumes and prepared it from scratch, within a short span of 7 days only. Besides, performing in front of a massive gathering was something special to us, as it boosted up our confidence significantly. It was a great experience for us as future management professionals,” said Aditya Jha, a 1st year PGDM student of ASM.

Speaking on her experience, Kajal Kumari, another 1st year PGDM student of ASM who participated in the play, said: “Amid the rising concerns over Delhi’s deteriorating AQI (Air Quality Index), there should be more awareness programmes. It gives me a sense of great personal satisfaction to be associated with this cause”.

Dr Monika Arora and Dr Ranjit Kaur, both faculty members of the institute, coordinated for the activity.

Apeejay School of Management has been conducting various activities including seminars, conferences and competitions for the cause of sustainability. Nurturing globally competent, socially sensitive and ethically sound managerial talent is among the vision of the institute.
