The first Cochlear implant surgery took place on November 5, 2023, under the mentorship of Prof. Dr. Hetal Marfatia, HOD, Dept of ENT, KEM Mumbai. Dr. Vinod Shinde, a distinguished Professor in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology at Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre and Dr. Mubarak Khan, an Adjunct Professor at the same department, provided invaluable assistance. The remarkable anesthesia team also deserves special recognition for their crucial role in the success of this initiative.
