Sensitizes citizens on the importance of early detection of health issues

  • Two-day camp demonstrates efficacy of latest tools in diagnosis of major health risk diseases like hypertension and diabetes
  • Series of camps aim to highlight and ensure easy public access to preventive healthcare services

In today’s fast-paced world, the prevalence of lifestyle diseases like hypertension and high blood pressure has reached alarming levels due to various factors such as prolonged work hours, stress, unhealthy dietary habits and lack of physical activity. Compounding the issue is the misconception that such ailments only afflict individuals above the age of 45 or 50. Unfortunately, many remain unaware of their condition until it progresses to severe health complications. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, the ‘Illness to Wellness’ campaign, a national initiative promoting healthy living and YoloHealth, a healthcare technology company are successfully conducting a series of health camps to sensitize citizens on the importance of detecting potential health issues at an early stage.

A two-day camp was organized at Aggarwal Digambar Jain Mandir, Connaught Place on May 11th and 12th, 2024 by Illness to Wellness and yolohealth. Over 150 individuals actively participated, undergoing comprehensive testing covering 32 blood screening parameters. The camp served as a platform to educate participants about the benefits of timely and affordable testing in preventing and managing various health conditions before they spiral into serious issues.

The health camp held at Aggarwal Digambar Jain Mandir marked another event in a series of highly successful initiatives undertaken by the collaborative efforts of Illness to Wellness and yolohealth. Preceding this event, a string of health camps held at prominent locations including Janpath, Gurudwara Bangla Sahib and Birla Mandir which witnessed strong participation and extensive testing. Despite its recent launch on March 28, 2024 the campaign has swiftly gained significant traction, reflecting the pressing need and growing enthusiasm for proactive healthcare initiatives among citizens.

Critical statistics emerged from the health camp conducted at Aggarwal Digambar Jain Mandir, revealing a concerning trend: over 25 percent of participants were diagnosed with conditions such as hypertension, obesity and pre-diabetes. This revelation is particularly significant as these individuals were completely unaware of their health status, and would have most likely delayed testing until symptoms would have manifested, and by then irreversible damage to their health could have occurred. Now, through the proactive approach of preventive health testing, these individuals have the opportunity to take control of their health and implement necessary measures for better management and prevention of further complications.

Speaking about the initiative, Anil Rajput, Chairperson, ASSOCHAM National CSR Council, said, “I am truly delighted by the positive response received at these camps, and I am confident that Illness to Wellness and YoloHealth will continue to organize many more in the future and reach out to an even wider audience. These camps have not only shed light on silent diseases like hypertension and diabetes prevalent among our citizens but also facilitated early diagnosis through comprehensive testing. This proactive approach empowers individuals with crucial awareness and preventive measures, significantly benefitting our collective well-being and working towards a healthier society, one that contributes on a much larger scale towards India’s development.”

In the camp, yolohealth used its trademark product HealthATM to show how technology has evolved in delivering accurate health assessment reports. These HealthATM machines are designed to offer primary and preventive healthcare services with the goal of ensuring easy public access. It is an aggregation of US FDA/EU certified IoT-enabled medical devices combined with yolohealth’s proprietary HIPPA compliant software backend and cloud-centric platform supporting tele-medicine facility. This pioneering endeavour enabled individuals to take stock of their health and make well-informed health decisions.

The ‘Illness to Wellness’ campaign was introduced in 2014 and remains committed to promoting health and well-being through empowering, educating, collaborating and adopting of sustainable health practices. Over the years, it has aimed to maximize outreach and impact, from organizing camps and awareness campaigns to holding regular webinars on key health topics and developments- with the clear purpose of raising awareness and providing motivation and remedies.
