New Delhi: Mr. Rajiv Nath, senior industry leader and key voice of India’s manufacturing and export ecosystem, has congratulated the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the Government of India on the successful signing of the India–Oman Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), calling it a landmark step in strengthening India’s global trade and strategic partnerships.

The India–Oman CEPA provides zero-duty access for over 98% of Indian exports to Oman, covering nearly the entire export value, and is expected to significantly boost bilateral trade, services, investment flows, and professional mobility. The agreement opens new growth avenues for Indian industries, including manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, engineering goods, textiles, and MSMEs, while reinforcing India’s position as a trusted global trade partner.

Commenting on the development, Mr. Rajiv Nath said:

“We wholeheartedly commend Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Government of India for the successful conclusion of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) with the Sultanate of Oman. This landmark accord is a forwardlooking step that will not only strengthen bilateral trade but also open new horizons for India’s medical device industry.

The CEPA provides a framework for enhanced collaboration in healthcare and life sciences, enabling Indian manufacturers to expand access to highquality, affordable medical technologies across Oman and the wider Gulf region. For sectors such as cardiac and dialysis care, syringes, and singleuse disposable medical devices, this agreement will facilitate smoother market entry, predictable regulatory pathways, and greater trust in Indias globally recognized manufacturing standards.

By fostering contract manufacturing partnerships and encouraging ethical procurement practices, CEPA will help ensure that patients in Oman benefit from safe, innovative, and costeffective solutions while Indian companies gain new opportunities to scale and diversify. This is a winwin for both nations, reinforcing Indias role as a reliable partner in advancing healthcare accessibility and resilience.

We look forward to CEPA serving as a catalyst for deeper cooperation in medical technology and beyond.”

Mr. Nath further noted that the agreement aligns with India’s long-term vision of expanding high-quality exports, strengthening regional value chains, and promoting domestic manufacturing under the broader goal of Viksit Bharat.
