In 2023, Arshia Baid founded KaamPro, a digital employment platform created to connect young blue-collar jobseekers with verified employers and reduce their dependence on informal hiring systems. Now active across 11 Indian states, KaamPro addresses the exploitation that often occurs in unregulated labour markets, including asymmetric information, wage deductions, unsafe work conditions, and child labour risks.
Through KaamPro, Arshia restructured the job registration process for workers who often struggled with repetitive English forms and limited access to formal hiring channels. She introduced a simplified, regional-language registration system supported by Aadhaar-based verification, which helped standardise worker profiles, improve accessibility, and ensure age verification to screen out underage applicants. This created a safer and more transparent pathway for young jobseekers entering the workforce.
Alongside a team of volunteers, Arshia conducted structured awareness sessions across 26+ Industrial Training Institutes and low-income schools, reaching hundreds of students per session. These sessions focused on the economic rights every jobseeker should understand before entering employment, including legal contracts, fair and timely wages, safe working conditions, and protection from exploitative practices. The goal was not only to help students find jobs, but also to help them recognise unfair treatment and advocate for themselves before signing a contract.
KaamPro also expanded its outreach to 68+ rural communities, especially in areas where child labour and informal employment remain prevalent. Through family-level awareness sessions, Arshia and her volunteers educated young jobseekers and their families about legal protections, legitimate employment pathways, and the dangers of hazardous, unregulated work. In addition, KaamPro participated in multiple job fairs, directly connecting young workers with verified employers and reducing reliance on contractors and informal networks that often lead to wage disputes or unsafe conditions.
To date, over 50,000 jobseekers have registered on KaamPro, with approximately 60% receiving verified job opportunities. Every confirmed placement represents a young person being redirected toward a safer, more structured, and rights-based alternative to informal labour.
Arshia’s work through KaamPro has received recognition at both institutional and government levels. She was awarded the Conrad Innovator Award and was named among the Top 100 Emerging Innovators twice consecutively. In July 2025, the Government of Rajasthan, through the Zila Rozgar Karyalay, Barmer, formally recognised KaamPro for its contribution to youth employment. Singhania University also honoured the platform for successfully facilitating student placements, further validating KaamPro’s role as an ethical and trusted employment bridge for young workers.
