Gurugram, 21st June 2026: Medanta – The Medicity, Gurugram, marked the 12th International Day of Yoga with a community yoga session held on the hospital lawns, in collaboration with The Art of Living. The session, held on Sunday, 21st June 2026, from 5:30 AM to 7:30 AM, saw participation from over 200 Gurugram residents and was conducted by experts from The Art of Living.
Dr. Kartikeya Bhargava, Senior Director, Electrophysiology, Cardiac Care, Medanta, was present at the event and spoke on the role of yoga in supporting long-term heart health. The session aligned with this year’s global theme, ‘Yoga for Healthy Ageing’, reflecting a continued emphasis on preventive, lifestyle-driven approaches to wellness across age groups.
“Yoga remains one of the simplest, most accessible tools we have for cardiovascular health. Pranayama practices like Anulom Vilom improve lung capacity, help regulate blood pressure, and support the body’s ability to eliminate stress, a key contributor to many chronic conditions. Regular practice of Yogasanas can also meaningfully strengthen heart health over time. At Medanta, we continue to see yoga not as a one-day observance, but as a long-term, evidence-backed complement to preventive healthcare,” said Dr. Kartikeya Bhargava, Senior Director, Electrophysiology, Cardiac Care, Medanta who himself happens to practice yoga regularly.
Through this initiative, Medanta reaffirmed its continued focus on preventive care and community wellness, building on its broader commitment to integrating yoga and lifestyle medicine into everyday health practice.
