In a major milestone for India’s MedTech industry, Innvolution Healthcare Private Limited (IHPL) has achieved the CDSCO manufacturing license for its Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab) manufacturing facility at the Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ) . The facility, was recently inaugurated by the Hon’ble Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal , marking a significant step towards strengthening India’s capability to manufacture advanced cardiac imaging systems under the Make in India initiatives.

Cardiovascular diseases claim nearly 3 million lives annually in India, affecting an estimated 80 million patients. However, the country has only about 4,000 active cardiac catheterization (cath) labs, a severe deficit that restricts advanced cardiac care to major metropolitan hubs. Historically driven by expensive imported systems, the industry could dramatically improve hospital affordability, expand treatment access, and save lives through domestic manufacturing.

Driven by expanding healthcare infrastructure and rising demand for minimally invasive procedures, India’s cardiac care segment is emerging as one of its fastest-growing medical device markets. Globally, the cardiac cath lab equipment and consumables market is projected to surge from approximately USD 30–32 billion in 2026 to USD 50–55 billion over the next decade. Manufacturing these sophisticated high-quality Cath Lab systems locally will strengthen supply chains, create skilled jobs, slash import dependency, and boost India’s global medical technology competitiveness.
