Forus Health has launched FH Eyepal, a portable Connected Digital Eye Clinic designed to expand access to comprehensive eye care by enabling healthcare providers to conduct advanced eye examinations beyond traditional hospital settings. The solution aims to improve early detection of eye diseases through intelligent diagnostics and a connected digital workflow.
Designed as a compact and portable platform, FH Eyepal can transform virtually any location into a fully equipped eye screening clinic within minutes. The solution is suitable for deployment at primary health centres, community health programmes, vision camps, corporate wellness initiatives and home based healthcare services, helping bridge gaps in access to ophthalmic care.
The digital platform integrates the entire eye examination workflow into a single system, including handheld vision screening, objective refraction using a handheld autorefractometer, subjective refraction through a digital wearable refractor and high resolution retinal imaging using a handheld fundus camera. By consolidating multiple diagnostic tools into one portable unit, the system is expected to streamline screening and improve clinical efficiency.
According to the company, the connected digital workflow supports early detection of vision disorders and retinal diseases, while enabling better continuity of care through digital record management and remote clinical collaboration. The solution is particularly suited for screening patients in underserved and remote areas where access to specialist eye care remains limited.
According to WHO, at least 2.2 billion people worldwide live with a vision impairment or blindness, with nearly 1 billion cases being preventable or yet to be addressed. Healthcare experts believe portable digital eye clinics can play a critical role in expanding preventive eye care, enabling early diagnosis and reducing avoidable vision loss through timely intervention.
