The device aims to strengthen early detection of kidney disorders by eliminating the need for expensive laboratory infrastructure and specialised personnel — making kidney health screening more affordable and widely available, especially in underserved regions.
How the Smart Kidney Screening Device Works
Developed by a research team led by Prof. Sanket Goel, the portable platform enables real-time analysis of kidney health biomarkers through an integrated Internet of Things (IoT) system. Unlike traditional diagnostic methods that require biological samples to be transported to labs for analysis, this device processes results instantly and wirelessly transmits them to connected digital devices.
The technology is expected to significantly improve screening capabilities in:
