Eligible beneficiaries can now access government-approved ART treatments at select Milann centres as per government scheme

Milann Fertility and Birthing Hospital has been empaneled under
the Suvarna Arogya Suraksha Trust (SAST) and Ayushman Bharat Arogya Karnataka (AB
ArK) schemes and has commenced offering government approved Assisted Reproductive
Technology (ART) services, including IVF treatment to eligible beneficiaries in Karnataka.

With this empanelment, eligible Karnataka BPL ration card holders can now avail approved
fertility treatments on a 100% cashless basis at select Milann centres, subject to the
eligibility criteria, treatment packages, referral process and guidelines laid down under the
government healthcare schemes.

Milann BACC Healthcare Pvt. Ltd., Bengaluru and Milann Unit of BACC Healthcare Pvt. Ltd.,
Bengaluru have been included in the list of empaneled hospitals approved to provide free
IVF services under the scheme. The service is now operational at the empanelled Milann
centres for eligible beneficiaries who complete the prescribed verification and approval
process.

The initiative is expected to support economically weaker families who require fertility
treatment but face financial barriers in accessing advanced reproductive care. Under the
scheme, eligible beneficiaries will have to complete the required verification process,
including confirmation of Karnataka BPL status through AB-ArK ID, ration card, Aadhaar and
other necessary documents.

A referral letter signed by the Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at a
Government Hospital or Medical College is required before the pre authorisation process
can be initiated. Once the required documents are verified, the treatment package is
submitted through the designated government portal for approval.

Speaking on the development, Ms. Anjali Ajaikumar, Director, Milann  Fertility and

challenge rather than a personal one. Globally, nearly one in six people experience infertility
during their reproductive years, while India is home to millions of couples seeking fertility
care. For many economically vulnerable families, the cost of treatment has remained a

ArK schemes is an important step towards making approved fertility treatments accessible to
eligible beneficiaries under Karnataka’s public healthcare framework. We believe every

access to quality clinical care.”

As part of the implementation process, Milann has trained its billing, administrative and
hospital operations teams on scheme eligibility, documentation, pre authorisation and
claims procedures. The hospital teams have also been sensitised on maintaining complete
records, including BPL ration card, Aadhaar details, referral letters, clinical notes, treatment
plans, diagnostic reports and other supporting documents required under the scheme.

Under the scheme, eligible beneficiaries must be Karnataka BPL ration card holders and
complete the prescribed eligibility verification process before treatment can begin. This
includes submitting valid documents such as the Karnataka BPL ration card, Aadhaar and
other required records. The treatment pathway follows a structured government process
comprising beneficiary verification, referral validation, pre-authorisation, selection of the
approved ART treatment package, submission of supporting clinical documents, and claim
processing in accordance with the scheme guidelines.

As per the scheme guidelines, ART benefits are available as a one-time treatment benefit
per eligible couple, subject to approved packages. The benefit is applicable for either one
fresh cycle or one frozen cycle. If a treatment cycle is cancelled after ovum pick-up, it will be
considered as a utilised benefit. Procedures involving donor sperm, donor egg and surrogacy
are not covered under the scheme.

Through this empanelment, Milann aims to strengthen Karnataka’s public healthcare
framework by improving access to fertility treatment for eligible families under the
government’s approved ART package.
