All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Raipur, and the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Raipur, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at advancing artificial intelligence-based healthcare solutions in Chhattisgarh. The partnership is being carried out through the AI Centre of Excellence set up under the IndiaAI Mission, an initiative of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).

Under this five-year collaboration, the two institutions will work together to develop AI-enabled diagnostic tools, clinical decision-support systems, predictive analytics models, and solutions aimed at improving hospital operations. AIIMS Raipur will contribute real-world clinical challenges and medical expertise, while researchers, students, startups, and technical resources from NIT Raipur will help build and refine the resulting solutions.

The partnership will also include joint research projects, clinical pilots, field validation studies, internship opportunities, hackathons, and skill-development programmes. According to officials involved in the collaboration, the broader goal is to strengthen patient safety, improve treatment outcomes, and expand access to quality healthcare services across Chhattisgarh — particularly by bringing AI-driven tools closer to real clinical settings rather than keeping them confined to research labs.

The initiative adds to a growing list of AI-focused collaborations at AIIMS Raipur in recent years, reflecting a broader push to integrate emerging technologies into public healthcare delivery in the state.
