At the BRICS WBA Women-Led Development Summit 2026, Dr. Upasana Arora leads cross-border discussion on integrating primary care, digital health and AI to improve women’s health outcomes
Ghaziabad, September 10, 2026 : Dr. Upasana Arora, Managing Director, Yashoda Group of Hospitals and Chair, BRICS WBA Healthcare Working Group, has called for greater integration of primary healthcare, digital health and AI to improve women’s health outcomes at the BRICS WBA Women-Led Development Summit 2026 in New Delhi, where she chaired and moderated a high-level panel on the subject.
Innovating for Women’s Health: Bridging Primary Care, Technology, and Access,” the session brought together healthcare and industry leaders to examine how better use of technology, stronger frontline healthcare and timely intervention can improve outcomes for women, particularly in rural and underserved communities. The discussion covered the role of digital health, telemedicine and artificial intelligence in early screening and diagnosis, along with maternal health and the need for trained healthcare workers and effective follow-up. Dr. Arora emphasised that technology can be meaningful only when it is supported by people and systems that can carry care forward from awareness and screening to treatment and recovery.
Dr. Upasana Arora, Managing Director, Yashoda Group of Hospitals and Chair, BRICS WBA Healthcare Working Group, said , “At Yashoda, we see how timely diagnosis, specialist care and continued follow-up can make a meaningful difference to outcomes, particularly when patients need coordinated care across multiple stages. Technology can play a huge role in closing women’s health disparities, but it can never work alone. We also need robust primary healthcare support, skilled and trained healthcare workers, along with an appropriate follow-up strategy to cover women right from awareness and screening to treatment and post-treatment wellbeing. The real opportunity lies in bringing these elements together so that innovation translates into accessible and continuous care for women, irrespective of where they live.”
The panel featured perspectives from stakeholders from India, Iran, Russia and Brazil, bringing together experiences from different healthcare systems and regions. The cross-country exchange highlighted the importance of sharing approaches and building greater cooperation around issues affecting women’s health.
Dr. Arora’s participation at the summit builds on her leadership of the Healthcare Working Group, which has been working on women-centric primary and preventive healthcare as part of the broader BRICS women’s development agenda. Her role also represents Yashoda Group of Hospitals in an international forum bringing together business, government and healthcare stakeholders around women-led development.
The BRICS Women’s Business Alliance (WBA) was established in 2020 to promote women’s economic participation and entrepreneurship across BRICS nations. Healthcare is among its areas of cooperation, with India assuming the WBA presidency in January 2026.
