Initiative brings together 200 participants, medical experts and public representatives to raise awareness of anemia, thalassemia and sickle cell anemia
Transasia Bio-Medicals Ltd. (Erba Transasia), through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, supported the Anemia Mukt Vidhan programme in Delhi, promoting community awareness, preventive healthcare and the importance of early diagnosis of blood disorders. Organised in association with Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, the programme brought together approximately 200 participants, medical experts, healthcare professionals and public representatives for an awareness session and preventive health screening camp.
A key highlight of the initiative was the on-site screening of 200 individuals through Complete Blood Count (CBC) tests conducted on the Erba H360 fully automated hematology analyser. The initiative underscored the role of accessible diagnostic technology in strengthening preventive healthcare and identifying individuals who may require further clinical evaluation.
The programme focused on raising awareness of anemia, thalassemia traits and carrier identification, and sickle cell anemia, emphasising the importance of timely screening, medical consultation and appropriate follow-up.
Medical Experts Emphasise Awareness and Early Detection
The awareness session was led by Dr Jyoti Kotwal, Head of the Department of Haematology and Molecular Medicine at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital. The session highlighted the importance of recognising anemia, understanding inherited blood disorders and encouraging appropriate screening practices at the community level.
The programme was organised by Dr Monika Katuria, President, Anemia Mukt Vidhan; Shri Umang Bajaj, MLA, Delhi; Shri Adiya Panwar, Chief Secretary, Rotary Club; and Dr Archana Bajaj, leading gynaecologist. Dr Sabina Langer Kumar, specialist in haematology and clinical pathology at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, also participated in the initiative.
The participation of medical experts and public representatives highlighted the importance of collaboration among healthcare institutions, professionals and community organisations in advancing preventive healthcare and improving public understanding of blood disorders.

Erba H360 Brings Diagnostic Screening Closer to the Community
The Erba H360 hematology analyser played a central role in the preventive health screening camp, conducting 200 CBC tests on-site. A CBC provides information on key blood parameters, including hemoglobin, red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets, helping clinicians identify individuals who may need further assessment.
The Erba H360 is a fully automated three-part differential hematology analyser that delivers a 22-parameter CBC report, including key red blood cell, white blood cell and platelet indices. With a throughput of up to 60 tests per hour and a low sample volume requirement of 9 µL, the system supports efficient routine hematology testing across laboratories with varying workloads.
By combining diagnostic technology with community outreach and medical expertise, the initiative demonstrated how accessible screening can support the early identification of potential health concerns and encourage timely medical intervention.

Strengthening Community Awareness of Blood Disorders
Anemia remains an important public health concern, while thalassemia and sickle cell anemia require appropriate screening, diagnosis and counselling. Community-level awareness initiatives can help individuals understand the importance of testing, recognise the need for medical evaluation and seek appropriate guidance.
The programme also reinforced the importance of identifying thalassemia carriers and providing appropriate counselling, where indicated, to support informed healthcare decisions. Such efforts complement broader public health initiatives aimed at improving awareness, screening and timely intervention for anemia and inherited blood disorders.
Through its continued commitment to community-oriented healthcare initiatives, Transasia aims to strengthen diagnostic awareness, encourage preventive health practices and contribute to improving access to quality diagnostic solutions.
