Former Indian cricket captain Kapil Dev has extended his contribution beyond sports through the establishment of KDSG Super-Speciality Hospital, a 300-bed tertiary-care facility in Greater Noida, aimed at expanding access to advanced healthcare across the National Capital Region (NCR).

Inaugurated by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on March 5, 2026, the hospital was co-founded by Kapil Dev and entrepreneur Sunil Kumar Gupta, with an investment of approximately ₹200 crore. Located in Sector 10, Greater Noida West, the facility has been developed to provide specialised medical services closer to the rapidly growing population of the region.

The hospital is equipped with modular operation theatres, multi-speciality intensive care units, a catheterisation laboratory, emergency and trauma care facilities, and advanced diagnostic infrastructure covering radiology, pathology and nuclear medicine.

Its clinical services include cardiology, oncology, neurology, neurosurgery, orthopaedics, gastroenterology, pulmonology, nephrology, paediatrics and critical care.

Focus on Accessible and Patient-Centred Healthcare
The hospital has been established around the principle that access to quality healthcare should not depend on a patient’s financial position. Speaking at the inauguration, Kapil Dev highlighted the importance of ethical, affordable and patient-focused medical services.

Hospital operations are being managed by Ajeenkya DY Patil Healthcare, which will oversee clinical services and operational management.
The facility is also expected to generate approximately 1,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities, including positions for doctors, nurses, technicians and other healthcare professionals.

Strengthening Greater Noida’s Healthcare Capacity
With its 300-bed capacity and multi-speciality infrastructure, KDSG Super-Speciality Hospital adds to the region’s tertiary-care facilities. It is expected to serve patients from Greater Noida, Noida, neighbouring districts and other parts of the NCR.

The development highlights the growing role of private-sector investment and partnerships in expanding India’s healthcare infrastructure, particularly in rapidly urbanising regions where demand for specialised medical services continues to increase.
Kapil Dev’s involvement in the hospital project brings together entrepreneurship and healthcare development, placing the focus on a legacy measured not only through sporting achievements but also through contributions to society.
