Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Shri Ashwani Kumar Choubey returned home after attending the ninth health ministers’ conference of BRICS countries. Talking to reporters in the auditorium of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Nirman Bhavan, he said that the BRICS member countries will work together for affordable, affordable and qualitative health services. The 5 issues were discussed by the member countries in the conference. Cheap and quality medicines in India were fiercely discussed by member countries. The way India is moving towards the goals of vaccination under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme and Mission Indradhanush for cashless treatment. Member countries China, South Africa, Brazil and Russia praised it strongly. India exports 12% of medicines to Brazil. The credibility of medicines made in India is increasing all over the world.
Brazilian Human Milk Bank Appreciated:-
Union Minister of State for Health Mr. Choubey said that member countries also discussed the usefulness of human milk bank in the conference, large scale human milk banks have been established in Brazil. In India too, the initiative has been taken, the focus is on breastfeeding and it has to be more than 70% by 2025. The rate of neonatal death (whose death is within one month) is reduced from 23 per 1000 to 12. India expressed its commitment in the conference about this. Awareness about breastfeeding is being spread in India. Whoever drinks mother’s milk, he is the strongest .. He gave the slogan at the conference and also made everyone aware of it.
Will work together for Health for All:-
Union Minister of State for Health Shri Choubey said that all BRICS member countries together expressed their commitment to Universal Health. He said that member countries are working continuously for the purpose of Health for All. The mission of Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, is that where the whole world has pledged to become TB free in 2030. At the same time, India is moving forward to achieve this goal by 2025. All BRICS member countries pledged to work together to achieve this goal. So that TB can be eradicated before the target from all over the world.
BRICS countries will compromise among themselves:-
At the conference, it was decided that the BRICS countries would enter into an agreement between drug regulators with other member countries for affordable, quality medicines. Such an agreement was signed between India and Brazil in 2016. The positive results are seen in both countries. The next BRICS Health Ministers Conference will be in Russia.
Germany will be helpful for treating cancer:-
Germany will be helpful in treating cancer in India. He will share knowledge about this with India. Germany has done a lot of research in this area. Union Minister of State for Health Mr. Choubey said that he had to stay in Germany in order to return from Brazil. Union Minister of State Shri Choubey visited Heidelberg University Hospital. Where he became aware of the treatment of cancer by ion beam therapy. He told that there was a lot of discussion with the hospital director about the treatment of cancer. From there, discussions were held to maintain continuous dialogue for knowledge sharing. In future, telemedicine and visiting doctors etc. were also considered. India will benefit from the knowledge share there. IIT Madras in India is continuously working for effective treatment of cancer. Recently I visited. Where I became aware of the work there. Joint Secretary Mandeep Bhandari was also present in the press conference.
