Less than 1% of 26,400 people, randomly chosen from 65 districts, were exposed to coronavirus in the first month of the national lockdown, according to the first phase of a nationwide sampling to check for the virus’ spread via testing for antibodies. ICMR chief Dr Balram Bhargava said, “This shows that the lockdown has been successful.”
