Strong public health measures are required in Africa’s current coronavirus “hotspots” in South Africa, Algeria and Cameroon, WHO’s Africa Regional Director Matshidiso Moeti said. Africa will have a “steady increase” in COVID-19 cases until a vaccine is developed, Moeti added. She further said that COVID-19 pandemic was “accelerating” in Africa and a lack of test kits was hampering the response.
