Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd. has announced the expansion of its healthcare footprint in India with the launch of a new 200-bed multi specialty hospital in Bengaluru, strengthening its presence in one of the country’s fastest growing healthcare markets. The facility is designed to provide advanced tertiary and quaternary care services while addressing the increasing demand for specialized healthcare in southern India.

The new hospital will focus on five core specialties: cardiac sciences, neurosciences, orthopaedics, medical and surgical gastroenterology, and general and laparoscopic surgery. According to Apollo Hospitals, the facility will be equipped with advanced medical technologies, critical care infrastructure and specialized clinical teams to deliver comprehensive patient care across these high demand specialties.

The expansion forms part of Apollo Hospitals’ broader strategy to increase healthcare capacity and improve access to advanced medical services across India. Bengaluru, which has emerged as a major healthcare and medical tourism hub, continues to witness growing demand for specialized tertiary care, driven by urbanization, rising lifestyle diseases and increasing healthcare awareness.

Apollo Hospitals, one of India’s largest integrated healthcare providers, currently operates a network of more than 70 hospitals, with over 10,000 beds across India and international markets. The group also manages pharmacies, primary care clinics, diagnostics services and digital health platforms, making it one of the country’s most diversified healthcare ecosystems.

Cardiovascular diseases, neurological disorders, musculoskeletal conditions and gastrointestinal diseases account for a significant proportion of India’s healthcare burden. According to public health estimates, cardiovascular diseases alone contribute to nearly 28 percent of all deaths in India, while demand for specialized surgical and advanced diagnostic services continues to grow rapidly.

Healthcare industry experts estimate that India’s hospital market is projected to exceed USD 190 billion by 2030, driven by increasing healthcare expenditure, rising insurance penetration and expanding demand for quality healthcare services. Private hospital investments continue to play a critical role in augmenting healthcare infrastructure and improving access to specialized care.

The launch of the new Bengaluru facility is expected to strengthen Apollo Hospitals’ position in southern India while contributing to the expansion of advanced healthcare services in the region. Experts note that continued investments in multi specialty hospitals, advanced technologies and specialized clinical services are essential to meeting India’s evolving healthcare needs.

The latest expansion underscores Apollo Hospitals’ continued focus on strengthening healthcare infrastructure, enhancing clinical capabilities and expanding access to high quality, patient centric healthcare services across the country.
