Satara : Onco Life Cancer Care Centre celebrates International Infection Prevention Week across all their units Satara, Pune, Gadhinglaj & Chiplun, highlighting the significance of hand washing. The event witnessed more than 70 participants from medical and paramedical staff who actively participated in lectures on infection prevention and a poster-making competition.

The event marked the presence of Mr. Uday Deshmukh – Chairman & Managing Director, Mr. Sachin Deshmukh – Managing Director, Dr. Pratap Rajemahadik – Director Resources, Mr. Arpit Kohli – Chief Operating Officer, Dr. Tejal Gorasia – Medical Director, Dr. Manoj Lokhande – Surgical Oncologist and Dr. Prasad Kaware – Infection Control Officer.

Hand washing is a simple yet powerful action that can save lives and prevent the spread of infection. “While we all know about the importance of hand washing, it is imperative to understand that there is more to it than merely running water over hands. It is important to understand proper hand washing technique which is also emphasized in this year’s theme, “Celebrating the Fundamentals of Infection Prevention”. Therefore, we hosted a week-long gathering for our doctors and paramedical staff of all departments. Dr Schumacher India Pvt Ltd arranged a workshop on hand hygiene, which was then followed by practical hand washing sessions for all staff members using a scanner to assess the efficacy of their technique. Additionally, there was an exhibition of posters showcasing infection prevention practices as part of the event,” said Dr. Prasad Kaware.

Mr. Sachin Deshmukh, Managing Director said, “Main pillar of Infection Prevention & Control is Handwashing followed by other practices e.g., Cough Etiquettes, Vaccinations etc. Onco Life Cancer Centre gives an utmost importance for Vaccinations of HPV for females for which camps were conducted in past & vaccinated more than 2000 Beneficiaries to prevent Cervical Cancer in females. It was concluded that prime importance to be given to Handwashing & Vaccination of HPV. Onco Life Cancer Centre all units provide HPV Vaccination which is the only vaccine to prevent Cervical Cancer. Onco Life Cancer Centre will be promoting HPV vaccinations.”
