Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute (Indo-American Hospital) is proud to announce a painting exhibition dedicated to raising awareness for bladder cancer under the initiative called “Art Against Cancer” supported by Merck Speciality Pvt Limited. The two-day exhibition took place at Indo-American Hospital on 21-22 May.

The month of May is observed as Bladder Cancer Awareness Month, and Indo-American Hospital is dedicated to amplifying awareness efforts. Bladder cancer remains one of the most prevalent and challenging cancers globally, affecting millions of lives every year. In line with its commitment to cancer research, treatment, and awareness, Indo-American is organizing this unique event to shed light on bladder cancer and its impact on individuals and families.

The “Art Against Cancer” exhibition features a diverse collection of artworks created by talented artists from leading art schools of India, each sharing their interpretation of the theme and their support for the fight against bladder cancer. The exhibition promises to inspire, educate, and spark meaningful conversations about the disease.

“We were excited to inaugurate ‘Art Against Cancer’ as part of our ongoing efforts to raise awareness about bladder cancer and we encourage everyone to join us in this important initiative,” said Dr Kurapati Krishnaiah, CEO of Indo-American Hospital. “Art has a unique ability to communicate complex emotions and messages, and we believe that this exhibition will serve as a powerful platform to educate the public about bladder cancer while showcasing the importance of creativity in healing and advocacy.”

The Senior Consultant of Medical Oncology Dr Senthil Rajappa said “Change in urine colour, including red, pink, orange, or brown, is one of the common symptoms of bladder cancer. Early detection plays a crucial role in successful treatment outcomes. With this exhibition, our hospital aims to emphasize the importance of recognizing these symptoms and seeking timely medical attention. By coming together as a community, we can make a significant impact in the fight against bladder cancer and improve outcomes for patients.”
