India’s Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) has achieved another significant milestone, with the digital health ecosystem surpassing 104 crore linked health records and 93 crore Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) IDs, reinforcing the country’s position as one of the world’s largest digital public health platforms.

The latest figures highlight the rapid adoption of ABDM’s interoperable digital health infrastructure, which enables citizens to securely create, store and share their health records across healthcare providers. The mission aims to provide every individual with a unique digital health identity while facilitating seamless access to healthcare services through a connected digital ecosystem.

According to official data, the ABDM ecosystem has also witnessed steady growth in healthcare provider participation. More than 7.7 lakh healthcare professionals and over 4.1 lakh health facilities have been registered on the platform, enabling secure digital exchange of health information and improving continuity of patient care across public and private healthcare institutions.

The ABHA serves as a unique digital health identifier, allowing individuals to link prescriptions, diagnostic reports, discharge summaries and other medical records under a single account. The initiative also supports digital hospital registration through the Scan & Share facility, online appointment booking and consent based sharing of health records, reducing paperwork and improving patient convenience.

Launched in September 2021, the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission is a flagship initiative of the National Health Authority (NHA) aimed at building an interoperable digital health ecosystem for India. The mission is built on globally accepted digital health standards and places strong emphasis on privacy, consent based data sharing and secure health information exchange.

Healthcare experts believe the rapid expansion of ABDM is accelerating India’s digital transformation in healthcare by improving care coordination, reducing duplication of medical records and enabling data driven healthcare planning. The platform is also expected to strengthen disease surveillance, support public health programmes and enhance access to healthcare services, particularly in underserved regions.

The achievement of 104 crore linked health records and 93 crore ABHA accounts marks another major milestone in India’s digital health journey and reflects the government’s continued efforts to build an integrated, patient centric healthcare ecosystem powered by technology.
