UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has asked all countries to designate seafarers and other marine personnel as key workers. The UN chief added that hundreds and thousands of them have been stranded at sea for months due to coronavirus. Guterres urged the governments to implement protocols for crew changeovers to allow stranded seafarers to go home and others to join ships.
