Recently, Dr. Narendranadh Meda, a renowned vascular surgeon at KIMS Hospitals, took on a challenging operation to save a patient’s life. “The patient had come from Oman and was suffering from a severe abdominal aortic aneurysm. He had previously undergone aortic aneurysm surgery with a graft in his home country, but unfortunately, it failed, leading to a leakage of blood. In search of a solution, the patient and his family explored hospitals in both India and abroad. Eventually, they arrived at KIMS Hospital in Secunderabad.

Taking on this particular case, I have realized that time was of the essence and that immediate intervention was vital to prevent further complications.  We have developed a unique treatment plan that involves a procedure called aortic aneurysm stenting with bilateral renal artery fenestration stenting. This innovative technique required the careful placement of stents to repair the damaged aorta and restore blood flow. By including bilateral renal artery fenestration stenting, we ensured that the patient’s renal arteries received adequate blood supply, preserving their kidney function. The surgery was a true test of our surgical skills, as every move and decision had to be executed precisely as even a minor mistake could have catastrophic consequences. After several hours of surgery, we were finally able to save the patient’s life.”

The patient who underwent surgery has made a full recovery and has given credit to Dr. Meda’s expertise, as well as the collaborative effort of the entire medical team. The dedicated nurses, anaesthesiologists, skilled technicians, and support staff all played a crucial role in ensuring the best possible outcome.
